Salifu K. Jaiteh supports Salikenni Health Centre

Businessman and philanthropist, Alhaji Salifu K. Jaiteh, yesterday, Wednesday donated medical items worth D50,000 to Salikenni Health Centre, a facility recently named after the late Sheriff Mustapha Dibba.

The presentation was held at the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Cyprus in The Gambia Office in Banjul.

In addition to the medical items, Mr Jaiteh gave beneficiaries D2,000 to transport the items.

The late Sheriff Mustapha Dibba is elder brother to Kutubo Dibba who raised Alhaji Salifu Jaiteh and trained him in business.

Handing over the items to beneficiaries, Alhaji Salifu K. Jaiteh said the move was in fulfilment of a promise he made during the inauguration of Sheriff Mustapha Dibba Health Centre in Badibu.

Mr Jaiteh, who is also the Honorary Consulate for the Republic of Cyprus in The Gambia, added that the gesture is also charity for the late Dibba brothers. He further said that it is also meant to ensure people who have succeeded in life do not forget those who contributed to their success as well as where they came from.

He expressed delight with the health centre being named after Sheriff Mustapha Dibba, a brother to the man who contributed greatly to the person he is today.

He thanked President Adama Barrow through the Ministry of Health for naming the health centre after Sheriff Mustapha Dibba.

He also thanked natives of Salikenni community for always patronising his business and also prayed for peace and unity to continue to rain in the community and the country at large.

Alhagie Yankuba Samateh, Salikenni Village Development Committee vice chairman, in receiving the items said the entire Salikenni community welcomes the gesture and thanked Mr Jaiteh for his generosity. He prayed for him for long life and health. He further commended Mr Jaiteh for not forgetting those who supported him to achieve his success.

Junkung Saidy, the Public Relations Officer for Salikenni Village Development Committee, said: “Your gesture is huge and will save a lot of lives. We therefore thank you on behalf of the entire community for your generosity.”

Isatou Dibba, daughter to the late Kutubo Dibba, said even though their father is not alive, they are not lonely as Mr Jaiteh is always by their side supporting them. She therefore thanked him and prayed that Allah rewards him for his good deeds.
