The Police have arraigned Muhammed Touray, Muhammed Sillah, Omar Jobe, Omar Jarju, Madi Nyang, Samba Manneh, Munirou Manneh and Papis Njie before His Worship A. Darboe of the Brikama Magistrates’ Court on a charge of common nuisance, contrary to Section 137 of the Criminal Offences Act, 2025.
According to the particulars of the offence, the eight allegedly acted in a manner likely to cause danger, obstruction or annoyance to the public on or about September 3, 2026, at Daru-Busumbala and other locations within the West Coast Region.
They are among persons alleged to have been involved in the September 3 protest-related disturbances.
The court subsequently remanded the eight at Mile II Central Prison, and the matter was adjourned till October 6, 2026, for hearing.
The ninth accused person, Ebrima Janha, was not present when the matter was called before the court.
The Police will continue to conduct patrols and other lawful security operations to maintain peace, public order and security across the country.
