The National Assembly Member for Lower Fulladou West, Central River Region South, Hon. Gibbi Mballow, recently addressed the Brikama North Youths 2026 Convergence held at Kassa-Kunda.

The Youth Convergence was convened under the theme: _“Building Leaders and Empowering Minds: Creating Digital Entrepreneurs.”

In his address, Hon. Mballow said the gathering reflects a shared commitment to investing in the nation’s most valuable asset — its young people. “You are not only the hope of today but the architects of tomorrow,” he told the audience.

“We live in an era defined by rapid technological transformation,” Mballow said. “The digital economy is no longer a distant vision; it is the reality of today. It is reshaping how we live, learn, work, and create value. In this changing world, young people must be prepared not merely to participate, but to lead.”

He added that leadership is measured by impact, not title. “It demands innovation, courage, and the ability to drive meaningful change. I urge each of you to believe in your potential, invest in your skills, and embrace continuous learning as a lifelong pursuit.”

Mballow stressed that digital skills — from coding and digital marketing to e-commerce and content creation — are essential tools for unlocking opportunities and transforming ideas into sustainable enterprises.

“Digital entrepreneurship is more than a career path. It is a solution to unemployment, a catalyst for economic growth, and a vehicle for social impact,” he said. “Yet access to technology alone is not enough. Success requires creativity, resilience, discipline, and unwavering determination. Do not wait for perfect conditions. Start where you are, use what you have, and grow step by step.”

He noted that leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders share the responsibility to create an enabling environment for young people. “This includes access to training, mentorship, financing, and reliable digital infrastructure. Above all, inclusivity must guide our action. No one, especially young women and those in rural areas, should be left behind,” Mballow said.

Addressing the youth directly, he added: “This is your moment. Embrace the opportunities of the digital age. Be bold in your vision, disciplined in your actions, and steadfast in your commitment to make a positive difference in your communities.”

“The future is not something we wait for — it is something we create,” Mballow concluded. “Let us rise, lead, and build it together.”
