During the courtesy call to the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA), Commissioner General, Darboe expressed gratitude to his Ugandan counterpart for the warm reception and continuous support extended to GRA. He highlighted the fruitful history of benchmark visits, ranging from ASYCUDA ++ and ASYUDA World to the more recent Digital Tracking System for excisable goods with SICPA. Notably, he emphasised that both ASYCUDA systems were developed by Ugandans for the GRA.
Commissioner General Yankuba Darboe also acknowledged the invaluable expertise shared by URA staff in areas such as Telecoms Audit, Risk Management and Data Analysis. This exchange of knowledge has not only strengthened the ties between the two revenue authorities but has also contributed to GRA's ability to implement advanced systems and solutions successfully.
As the GRA delegation witnessed the Rental Tax Mobilisation System in action, the collaborative relationship between The Gambia and Uganda demonstrated a strong spirit of South- South Cooperation between the two nations.
