The Kanifing Magistrates' Court recently heard a theft case brought against one Modou Fall.
According to the particulars of offence, Modou Fall, on 10th August 2009, stole a pedal bicycle, being the property of one Yusupha Gibba.
In his testimony, the accused Modou Faal told the court that he is a student and the bicycle was sold to him by one Mustapha Ceesay, at a cost of D500.
According to him, one day he was riding the bicycle when he met with one boy who claimed to be a brother to the complainant and told him that he recognised the said bicycle.
The accused further told the court that the boy had asked him to go to the police station. At the station, he said the police declared to him that he stole the said bicycle.
He said he was detained at the station, while they searched for the person who purportedly sold the bicycle to him.
