World Eleven FC have progressed to the second round of the 2010-11 Gunjur knockout following their 7-6 win over Nyokoyorr FC, after 1-1 draw in regular time at the Gunjur playground on Sunday.
Nyokoyorr FC controlled and dominated ball possession and also created clear goal scoring opportunities.
Their efforts paid dividends in the 59th minute of the game from a spectacular free kick by defender Pa Saikou Touray, before Algie Janneh leveled the score in the dying minute of the game from the penalty spot. This pushed the game into a post-match penalty shootout, which ended 7-6 in favour of World Eleven FC.
Earlier on Saturday, Manchester United FC also sailed into the second round of the championship following their 3-0 win over Lanuja FC after a 2-2 draw in normal time.
Matches continue today between Solifo FC and Asselem FC.
Thursday's game will feature Commit FC against struggling J&P Enterprise FC.
