Pa Dembo Touray Santos will play at the Athlone Stadium as part of the confirmed matches in the South African Premier Soccer League for the Nedbank Cup last 16.

Kicking off this round of 16 matches, on Friday 21 March 2014, will be Touray’s Santos and 2011 champions Orlando Pirates at Athlone Stadium.

Touray, who began his footballing career with Real de Banjul FC in The Gambia, is set for another outing in this high-profile league.

Touray has had a great career before moving to South Africa.  In 2000 he moved to Stockholm in Sweden to play for Djurgårdens IF in the highest domestic league, Allsvenskan.

Touray spent two respective loan spells with Assyriska FF [1] and Vålerenga IF [2] before returning to Djurgårdens IF following the sale of Swedish international goalkeeper Andreas Isaksson.

After Isaksson’s departure, Touray was handed an extended run in the team, and has since maintained his position as first-choice goalkeeper at the club.

He was also rewarded with the club captaincy after several seasons of consistency and, following the 2011 season, he was selected as the top goalkeeper in the Allsvenskan [3].

At the conclusion of the 2011 season, after a decade at Djurgårdens IF, Touray left the club having appeared in 195 league matches.
