Three
women were on 21 January 2016 arraigned before Magistrate Wilson of the Kanifing
Magistrates’ Court for alleged prohibition of conduct to breach of the peace.
Prosecutors stated that the alleged offence was contrary to section 9 of the Public Order Act.
The law enforcement officers further alleged that Binta Darboe, Fatou Ndoye and Jalika Darboe at Bakau Kachikally, in the Kanifing Municipality, conducted themselves at a public place in a manner likely to cause the breach of the peace by using serious abusive languages to the inhabitants of Darboe Kunda, on 5 January 2016.
They all denied any wrongdoing.
Magistrate Wilson granted them bail of D3,000 each with a Gambian surety, who should deposit an ID card to the registrar of the court.
The sureties should also swear to an affidavit of means.
The case was adjourned till 1 February 2016.
