Nasiru Joof, Sainabou Cham and Sheikh Joof were recently arraigned before Magistrate Mbye of the Bundung Magistrates’ Court, charged with assault.
According to the charge sheet on count one, on 11 September 2011 at Nemakunku in the West Coast Region, the accused persons, Nasiru Joof, Sainabou Cham and Sheikh Joof, allegedly assaulted two police officers, 1st Class P. Bah and 1st Class A. Boye, while in the due execution of their duties.
Count two stated that on 11 September 2011 at Nemakunku, the accused, Sheikh Joof, assaulted A. Boye, a police officer, by hitting him with a blow on his face, and thereby committed an offence.
Count three read that on 11 September 2011 at Nemakunku in the Kombo North district of the West Coast Region, the accused, Nasiru Joof, assaulted one Samba Ceesay, a driver, by beating him with a cable wire and thereby committed an offence.
All denied the charges, and were each granted court bail of D25, 000.
