Central FC on Tuesday defeated New Germany FC 2-1 at the Serrekunda East Mini
Stadium to clinch their first victory in the 2016 Serrekunda East nawettan at a
3pm kickoff.
The
game, which attracted spectators from Serrekunda East and its environs, saw
both sides make astonishing goal-scoring attempts at each other’s goal mouth.
Celester
Mendy alias Alda opened the score for T. Central FC after 10th minutes before
sealing victory for T. Central in the 18th minute of the game to complete his
brace and earn his side their first win in the Serrekunda East nawettan.
Ensa
Mballow’s lone strike in the 21st minute of the game only proved to be a
consolation goal for New Germany FC, who need to win their remaining group
matches to fancy their hopes of qualifying for the second round and also avoid
relegation and stay in Serrekunda East nawettan proper next season.
Meanwhile,
Jola Kunda FC drew goalless with Culture FC in the 5pm kickoff on the same day.
Ebrima
Jaiteh could have earned Culture FC their first win in the summer championship
after 65th minutes of play from the penalty spot but his shot was saved by Jola
FC’s net-minder Lamin Sanneh thus the game ended goalless.
