Following his team’s 2-0 defeat to Lamin in the final of the Gambia Football Association’s (GFA) Super Nawettan final at the weekend, head coach of Sukuta, Seedy Barrow, said he was really impressed with the performance of his team.
“We played very well in the first period and created some great goal-scoring opportunities but failed to make the best use of them,” said Coach Barrow, who made these remarks in an exclusive interview with reporters shortly after the game at the Independence Stadium in Bakau at the weekend.
According to Barrow, his team lacked concentration in the defence, which resulted in them conceding two second-half goals.
He commended his team for what he called their brilliant performances leading to the final, saying: “I have every reason to feel really proud of the boys in this year’s Super Nawettan.”
Barrow, whose side put up a great fight despite ending the game with a 2-nil deficit, applauded his fans for the support they rendered to the Sukuta outfit along the hectic journey to the final. He therefore urged them to continue rallying behind the team in their quest to win the Super Nawettan next time.
Lamin Fofana, head coach of Lamin, for his part, hailed his team for lifting the Super Nawettan title, saying: “Lamin really deserved to win the title.”
Fofana used the platform to thank all those who contributed towards the success of the team.
