Soccer FC were crowned champions of the 2011-2012 Brikama Knockout title following their hard-fought 1-0 victory over Jokor FC in a tightly contested re-scheduled final game played at the Brikama Box Bar Mini-stadium at the weekend.

The game, characterised by brilliant exhibition of skills and panache, attracted thousands of spectators from Brikama and its surrounding areas with both sides launching serious assaults on each other’s goal mouth.

Soccer FC opened the score through winger wizard Omar Bojang in the 16th minute of the game from a brilliant strike from Lamin Saho’s past to give his side the lead.

Modou Touray and Lamin Jammeh could have levelled the score for Jokor FC in the 35th and 39th minute of the game but those goal-scoring opportunities were denied by Soccer FC’s goalkeeper, thus the first half ended 1-0 in favour of Soccer FC.

Upon resumption of the second half, Jokor FC, who were trailing1-0 in the first half, brought in several fresh legs who created some goal-scoring opportunities but failed to capitalize on them, thus the game ended 1-0 in favour of Soccer FC.

As champions of the knockout, Soccer were awarded with a championship trophy and a cash prize of D10, 000, whilst Jokor as runners-up received D8, 000.
