The University of The Gambia Students' Union, through its Sports Ministry, last week held discussion with The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) to develop and advance sports at the University of The Gambia (UTG).
During their visit, the university student leaders discussed potential collaboration and partnership to develop university sport, especially at the University of The Gambia (UTG).
UTGSU leaders were received by president of the GFF Kemo Ceesay, who assumed office in September 2026 after succeeding Lamin Kaba Bajo.
Discussions featured potential support for UTG football tournaments, promoting women’s participation in sports and advancing the inclusion of persons with disabilities in sporting activities.
The two parties raised technical support opportunities and provision of football equipment to enhance sport activities and create better opportunities for student athletes.
The engagement was part of the UTGSU's effort to forge strategic partnerships with relevant stakeholder institutions to strengthen university sport, promote inclusivity and widen opportunities for students.
