Second division league reaches week four

The Gambia Football Association GFA) Division Two League Championship, which continued to produce some exciting moment of wonderful football is expected to resume tomorrow in what promises to witness some exciting moment of entertaining football in the country’s second tier showdown.

The Latrikunda United is one of title contenders. They beat Nema United 2-nil in last weekend’s clash and are currently occupying the second spot with 6 points.

A win for them in Friday's match in Week Four encounter could prove vital which will see them climb at the top of the table on temporal basis.

The current leaders Africell, who managed to snatch two wins and a draw with a total of 7 points could extend their stay at the top of the table, if they win their Week Four clash against Serrekunda United at East Park on Saturday.

A newly promoted team that is making a huge impact is Banjul United, who has got-off to a promising start, collecting 5 points in the process.

They will travel to Serrekunda East to engage another determined Second Division team in Latrikunda, who secured 6 points to maintain the second spot in the 10-club championship.

The two sides will meet on Friday in this exciting fixture.

Nema United, who collected their first with an impressive win over Tallinding last weekend, will rub shoulders with Lamin at Brikama Mini-stadium on Friday.

Lamin only collects 2 points in three matches so far.

Young African's performance in the league has not be satisfactory, despite a heroic performance which saw them winning the FA cup at the expense of big name teams.

They are yet to snatch a win in 3 games, collecting only 3 points in the process.

The game against Tallinding United, who collected a single point, could serve as an opportunity for them to celebrate their first win in the league.

Meanwhile, Saturday's games will see Serrekunda East locking horns with Flamenins at Manjai, while league leaders Africell could maintain their position should they add another vital points to their ranks when they travel to Serrekunda East Mini-stadium to rub shoulders with Serrekunda United.
