Scorpions to Play Two Fundraisers

The national Scorpions of the Gambia will this week engage in two charity games geared towards raising funds.

The scorpions' first charity game will be against a Super Nawettan selection on Wednesday December 24th 2008 at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

Seedy MB Kinteh, President of The Gambia Football Association, said the charity games are an idea conceived by the National players.

"The players expressed their happiness with the running of the Super Nawettan and the need to stage these matches. The proceeds realised will be made available for donations," the GFA boss explained.

According to the GFA Prexy, all professional players except the Ebou Sillah, captain of the national team, Edirissa Sonko and Musa Bajaha will take part in the charity game.

He appealed to the general public to come forward and support their national players.

Their final fundraising game will be against the U-17 team on Friday December 26th at the Brikama Mini-Stadium.

"Tickets for the games will be sold at D50 and D25 for the VIP and covered pavilions at the Independence Stadium and D15 and D25 in Brikama Mini Stadium," he stated.
