The head coach of Sukuta Seedou Barrow was under no illusions about his sides spectacular performance on Saturday afternoon at Serrekunda Mini Stadium, claiming his side deserved to beat the defending champions Bakau.
Sukuta produced yet another impressive performance this time against the cup holders Bakau, and Barrow avowed that his team really deserved something from the match.
Speaking to Pointsports, Coach Barrow said the loss does not hurt because from the very first minute Sukuta put-up a strong challenge that saw them beat Bakau. Coach Barrow maintained that his side created a lot of chances and "a lot of things happened during the game that proved us the worthy winners. Football is all about results".
Sukuta lost their morale after they missed a last minute penalty only for Bakau to capitalise on this and mount a serious counter that paid dividends when Abdoulie Jatta slotted in an injury time winner to knock out Sukuta.
Barrow went on to praise his young side for the spirited teamwork they showed in the tournament and urged them to continue training hard so that they can be a first division club.
"I really appreciated the result ecause the performance showed out" said Seedou Barrow. Sukuta bowed down to Bakau with a 2-1 defeat, drew with Serrekunda West and lost to Mighty Gunjur 1-0.
