The
Gambia Senior National team returned home yesterday after completing a
successful training camp in Rabat, Morocco.
The
Scorpions opened their training camping against the hosts Morocco CHAN team, in
which they lost to the Atlas Lions 2-1 last Thursday before their 2-1 win over
Central Africa Republic in their second match played in Rabat on Monday.
Winger
Modou Secka Barrow and striker Mustapha Caroyol were on target for the
Scorpions against Central Africa Republic.
Barrow’s
strike against Central Africa Republic was his first-ever goal for The Gambia
Senior National team since making his debut for the Scorpions against Uganda in
an international friendly in 2015 prior to their 2017 Africa Cup of Nations
qualifiers opener away to South Africa in June 2015.
The
international friendly matches are part of The Gambia’s preparations for their
2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers opener away to Benin in June 2017, in
Porto-Novo.
