Ebrima Sanyang and Kenta Kessu were on Saturday convicted and sentenced by the Brikama Magistrates' Court, presided over by Principal Magistrate Emmanuel Amadi to a fine of D2000, in default to serve three months in prison for stealing.
The court further ordered the convicts to compensate the school in the sum of D11, 075, in default to serve a further term of three months imprisonment.
According to the particulars of offence, on 13th August 2009, at Tujereng village, Kombo South, Western Region, the convicts stole 5 solar panels valued at D67, 500, being the property of Tujereng Upper Basic School.
Following their plea of guilty to the charges, they were accordingly convicted and sentenced.
