Samger laid a one-all draw against Young Africans, at the Serrekunda East football pitch, in the Gamtel/Gamcel sponsored GFA league one competition.
It could have gone a different way, had Samger capitalised on their goal-scoring chances. However, they could only utilize one out of their numerous goal attempts.
It was into the 27th minute, when Samger’s Young forward player Muhammed Ceesay broke the deadlock. His out-footed set-piece faked Young Africans shot stopper Dam Jaye, and the ball finally went into the top hand corner of his net.
The game was possessively dominated by academic boys Samger, in the first encounter; however, they could not defend their only goal in the first half.
Yusupha Sarr levelled the score for Young Africans in the additional time of the first half, when Ablie Sambou’s cross beat Samger defenders, and Yusupha Sarr had a simple finish in the penalty area.
Samger continued their domination in the second half of the game; they came across with several goal-scoring chances but none of them was productive.
Modou Jobe and Aziz Mendy were all on goal attempts; however their efforts couldn’t make any difference on the score board.
The draw has given Samger seven points in their six-league games, while Young Africans have collected six points.
