Profile: Momodou Clark Bajo

Momodou Clark Bajo, alias Governor, is among the budding football stars in Gunjur.

His dribbling skills, movement and speed, which is quiet amazing and exciting attracted national league clubs.

He was born in 1996 in Gunjur and started his playing career at a tender age in the streets of Gunjur Tendinto with his colleagues.

Momodou also played for Gunjur Upper Basic School team in 2003, he joined MSR FC in Gunjur Junior League Championship, but Jujuba United eliminated his side in the semi-final.

In 2004, he joined Ajax FC in Gunjur Senior Nawettan League Championship where he won two league titles.

He was the captain of Gunjur U-15 team that won the 2006 Olympia Africa Football Tournament, organised by Serrekunda East Sports Organisation (SESO), meant to develop and promote football at the grassroots level.

He was also part of Gunjur zonal team that lost to Serrekunda East and Banjul in semi-finals in the 2006 and 2009 GFA Super Nawettan competition.

In 2007, he joined Oxford United FC and last year his team emerged as champions of Gunjur league title, as he was awarded the best player of the tournament.

His ambition is to play for the national teams at junior category, as well as the senior national team. He also wants to play professional football in the near future.
