Police Officer Testifies in Forgery Case

Pa Modou Sarr a police officer attached to Kotu Police Station on 12th January 2009 testified at the Bundung Magistrates' Court in the trial of one Muhammed Ceesay.

Mr Ceesay is standing trial before Magistrate Kumba Sillah-Camara on a charge of being in possession of an implement carried purposely for forgery. The Accused denied the charge.

In his testimony, police officer Sarr told the court that on 3rd January 2009, he was on duty at the Kotu police station when an NIA officer walked into the office to inform him that there were some money doublers in Kotu. He said he was joined by officer Dibba and the NIA officer to the place where they met the accused and three others in the house.

Officer Sarr further testified that they introduced themselves as security personnel before conducting a search in the house. He said during the search they recovered 4 bottles with liquid, black and white papers, flash drive, torch light and 5 rolls of cellotape. He added that later the accused was arrested and taken to Kotu police Station.

The case was adjourned until 21st January 2009.
