Plumbi Are Banjul Super Cup Winners

A goal in each half from Baboucarr Kolley and Sankung Jammeh has earned the 2008 league champions Plumbi another decoration in their name as super cup winners of the Banjul on Sunday, at the Gambia Senior Secondary school's grounds.

Ngoyan who were also eying for the title missed the opportunity, after failing to find Plumbi's goal mouth despite numerous goal scoring attempts and disturbances by their strikers.

Plumbi walked away with a giant trophy. An undisclosed cash prize was also presented to both teams.

Ebou Faye, the Secretary-General of the Banjul Sports Committee during the presentation, said twenty-five teams are contesting in this year's session.

"There will be a league after the Nawettan and it will be sponsored by Sports House, while Jollof Tutors will sponsor the best player, most disciplined team, best young player and top goal scorer of the league," Faye stated.

Meanwhile, Hon. Baboucarr Nyang, National Assembly member for Banjul South made a donation of D5, 000 and footballs to five football teams, namely One Love FC, Wafffi Eliminite, Digi Dambia FC, Hagan United and Ngoyan FC.

In return, Hon. Baboucarr Nyang was also presented with a certificate of appreciation by Ngoyan FC
