The Penyem Community Association women’s team recently drew goalless with Dasilami in the opening game of the Kombo Central District Inter-community Women’s Football tournament at the Marakissa football field.
Organised by the Kombo Central District Sports Committee under the leadership of Babun Fatty, the tournament is sponsored by Saamasang Youth and Children Development Association.
The Kabafita Community Association women’s team beat Jamisa Community Association 1-0 in a tightly contested game played at the Mahaad Senior Secondary School playground.
Kabafita Community Association side’s lone goal was registered by star striker Masi Darboe, alias Messi, from a spectacular strike to bag maximum points in the dying minute of the second half after a deadlock in the first half.
