NISA football tourney gains momentum

The 8th edition of National Inter-Department Sports Association (NISA) Football Tournament, which got underway in different playing grounds in the Greater Banjul Area is gaining momentum among the participating teams with some interesting results so far.

The tournament, aimed at bringing together different institutions, companies in a bid to strengthen the relationship among them kicked-off on Sunday 14th March 2010 between KMC and Immigration, which ended 2-nil in favour of Immigration at the country's biggest football arena, the Independence Stadium.

Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital, (RVTH) entertained the Gambia Radio and Television Services (GRTS) to a bitterly fought 1-1 draw at the Sea View playing ground in the other game, played on Friday.

Fire Service and GIA's encounter which was played at SSTD playing field also ended in a goalless draw, while the last game on Friday saw GPA collecting their first win as they entertained Comium to a deserved 1-nil win at Yundum Football Field.

GAF and Kombo Beach were involved in a stalemate result.

Police suffered a narrow 1-nil defeat to the telecommunication boys Gamtel in the other NISA match, while the last game which was played over the weekend saw SSFHC conceded the heaviest defeat as they succumb to an embarrassing 4-nil lost to GCAA in Yundum.
