Sixteen teams are involved in the Manjai Kunda Sports Committee Nawetan competition currently underway at the Father Gough Sports Complex in Manjai Kunda.
The teams are Fajara South FC, Johannes FC, Kololi United, D’Dolphins FC, Sansiro FC, Sanchaba United, Gamcel Starlight FC, Aziz Corr FC, Selection FC, Marimo FC, Tigers FC, Royal 7 FC, Darusalam FC, Lion’s Den FC, Ankeluck FC and Bakoteh United, and they are now into the round of sixteen.Fajara South FC, Johannes FC, Kololi United and D’Dolphins FC are the four teams that made it from Group A with 10, 9, 8 and 7 points respectively.
Sansiro FC, Sanchaba United, Gamcel Starlight FC and Aziz Corr FC were the teams that qualified from Group B with 10, 9, 7 and 7 points respectively, to advance to the round of sixteen.
In Group C, Selection FC, Marimo FC, Tigers FC and Royal 7 FC made it to the round of sixteen after collecting 11, 10, 10 and 5 points respectively, while in Group D, Darusalam FC, Lion’s Den FC, Ankeluck FC and Bakoteh United made it to the round of sixteen with 15, 12, 12 and 10 points respectively.
Meanwhile, the Manjai Youth and Sports Development Committee is grateful to all teams for their continued cooperation and commitment towards the development of the beautiful game.
Meanwhile, the Ndofan Sports Committee Nawetan Competition is under way in Ndofan village in the Lower Niumi District of the North Bank Region.
In the matches played over the weekend, on Sunday 30th September 2012, Garas FC of Barra beat Medina FC by a goal to nil with Alieu Jallow scoring the only goal of the game in the 14th minute for Garas FC.
On Saturday 29th September 2012, Furr Bi FC beat Gamcel FC by 4-1 in the all Mbollet Ba Village derby played at the Biri-Biri Football Field in Ndofan Village.
Samba Kah, Baboucarr Senghore, Musa Jallow and Sutra Senghore scored Furr Bi FC goals in the 1st, 36th, 51st and 78th minutes while Gamcel FC consolation goal was scored by Abdoulie Sarr in the 76th minute from the penalty spot.
