The disciplinary committee of the Gunjur Youth and Sports Development Association has decided to fine Asselem FC and Kayounkalone FC for their violent conduct in the Gunjur Nawettan at the weekend.
Asselem FC were fined D1,000 with two of their fans, Oumie Jatta and Bakary Darboe, each fined D300 and banned indefinite, for assaulting the match officials and committee members after the side’s 1-1 draw against Kayounkalone FC.
Kayounkalone FC was also fined D1, 000 and one of their team representatives, Issac Jatta, was also fined D600 for assaulting the match officials and executives members.
Sambouyang FC was fined D1, 000 for failing to turn up in their final group game against Nyokoyorr FC.
According to GYSDA, Asselem FC, Kayounkalone FC and Sambouyang FC are expected to settle their fines before their next games, failure to do which they will be suspended, and the committee seized the opportunity to appeal to all teams to maintain discipline and avoid fines and suspension.
