A man was recently convicted and sentenced to a fine of D10,000 in default to serve six months in prison by the Kanifing Magistrates' Court, presided over by Magistrate Tabally.
Mustapha Bah, found guilty of stealing eight bags of rice and a tiger generator, was also ordered to compensate the complainant with D10,000.
According to the charge sheet, on 5 February 2011, at Kairaba Avenue, in the Kanifing Municipality, the convict, Mustapha Bah, stole from the house of one Dr Babucarr Njie eight bags of rice and a tiger generator, all valued at D7,100, being the property of the said Dr Babucarr Njie.
