A man accused of cheating was recently arraigned at the Brikama Magistrates’ Court.
Landing Jadama denied the charge and was granted court bail of D50,000 with two Gambian sureties, who must swear to an affidavit of means and deposit their ID cards.
The particulars of offence stated that the accused, Landing Jadama, on17 April 2012, at Old Yundum Market, by means of fraudulent trick, charged one Isatou Barry D175,000 for the purchase of a plot of land situated at Old Yundum, when the actual cost price was D150,000.
The case was then adjourned till 27 June 2012, for hearing.
