Personality of the Week: Spotlight on Nyangsarang Joof-Dubois, Head of Internal Audit at Sahel Bank

In today’s edition, we bring you Nyansarang Joof Dubois, the Head of Internal Audit at Sahel Bank on

Ms Joof-Dubois has undoubtedly made an impression on The Gambia’s banking sector over the years. She is a stickler for excellence, a trait that has enhanced her performance and has seen her promoted to an important position at Sahel Bank.

Ms. Joof-Dubois was born was in Banjul in 1975. She attended St Joseph’s Primary School where she sat her Common Entrance Examination in 1989.

She then enrolled at St Joseph’s High School in Banjul where she sat O Levels in eight subjects including English Language, French and Mathematics. After graduating in 1994, she enrolled at St Augustine’s High School in Banjul where she attained A Levels which included Economics, Business Management and Accounting.

Between 1999-2002, she attended University of Luton, where she attained a BA in Accounting. Following this, she attained further qualifications in computerised bookkeeping.

She has been Head of Internal Audit at Sahel Bank since 2009.

At Sahel Bank, Ms Joof-Dubois’s main tasks are to attend and report on the Board of Directors meetings and to ensure that all procedures and policies of the bank are followed by all the departments.

She is a keen individual possessing excellent verbal and written communication skills and is ambitious and goal oriented.

Ms Joof-Dubois went for an inspection mission to Sahel Bank in Accra, Ghana where learnt how to work with people from a different cultural background. While in Accra, she audited different sectors of the bank in Ghana in accordance with their banking rules and regulations. After her mission in Accra, she made recommendations based on her review.
