Kabafita Community Association women’s team are leading in the five-team Kombo Central District inter-community football tournament, after thrashing Dasilami girls 2-0 at the Marakissa Football Field on Sunday.
Both sides made a promising start to the game but the Kabafita women, who were more skillful and talented, opened the scoring in the 32nd minute through Meita Sanneh from a brilliant finishing, before Penda Bah, alias Peter Crouch, sealed the victory in the 65th minute to give Kabafita crucial three points in two matches to top the group.
The Dasilami side, who fought hard for an equaliser in Sunday’s game, are sitting at the bottom of the table.
Earlier on Saturday, the Penyem women beat Bafuloto community association women’s side 1-0 at the Mandaur playground.
Penyem is now 4th on the table with 3 points in three games, while Bafuloto are 3rd place with 3 points in two games.
