President Yahya Jammeh has continued his constitutionally-mandated countrywide tour, which he started on Monday.

On Monday, the President had a rally in Farafenni as part of the tour, during which he appealed to Gambians to be united and resist negative external influence.

According to GRTS, the 19-day tour is meant to create a platform for the people to identify gaps in development areas and chart the way forward.

The tour will give the Gambian leader the opportunity to assess this year’s cropping season at various selected farms, as well as inspect development projects across the country.

Jammeh will also see progress made in rice cultivation.

The way forward

President Jammeh called on Gambians to unite and support each other for the development of the country.

He disclosed that 24 communities in the North Bank Region will benefit from the second phase of the rural electrification project.

He thanked the womenfolk for their tireless support, and vowed to transform their lives and livelihood.

The Gambian leader denounced the West whom he said proclaimed to be champions of democracy and rule of law, yet are interfering in the internal affairs of other countries.

He warned Gambians against destructive external influence.
