The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) is vigorously preparing the conduction of a by-election for Lower Saloum Constituency in the Central River Region.
Whilst the by-election has been slated for Thursday 6 August 2015, the issuing of nomination forms for prospective candidates commences today 1 July through 24 July 2015.
“These forms are free of charge and can be collected from the Election House at Bertil Harding Highway or the IEC’s Regional Office in Janjangbureh,” a press release by the IEC has stated.
It added: “The Independent Electoral Commission will conduct a National Assembly by-election for the Lower Saloum Constituency in the Central River Region on Thursday 6 August 2015.
“In view of the aforementioned, nomination forms will be issued out to prospective candidates from Wednesday 1 to Friday 24 July 2015.”
