Following his side’s dismal performance in the 2011-2012 Gambia Football Association GFA second division league, the head coach of Gunjur United, Lamin Darboe, has expressed optimism that his team will stay in the second division next season despite many games in the round.

Coach Darboe made these remarks with an interview with Pointsport at the team’s training grounds in Gunjur on Tuesday.

Darboe said the team is not winning games at the moment but believes the team “will remain in second division next season”.

Darboe stated that the team was doing extremely well in the first round and were sitting second on the league but now they are struggling one place away from the relegation zone.

According to Darboe, he and his coaching staff will make sure the team remains in second division next season.

Gunjur United is struggling at 8th position with only 9 points in twelve games with five games in hand.
