The friendly was part of Gunjur zonal team’s preparations for the annual Super Nawetan competition set to commence on 25 October 2015.
It was also part of Kartong’s preparations for the 2015 Kombo South district’s biggest football gala finals against Tanji, which is set for this weekend at the Sanyang football field.
Both sides put up a strong performance in the game and launched several goal-scoring attempts at each other’s goal mouth, but the first half ended blank.
Upon resumption of the game, Gunjur brought in several fresh legs and mounted pressure on Kartong defence.They created numerous goal-scoring opportunities.
Finally, Gunjur opened the scores through winger Lamin Jallow aka Sako mid-way into the second half, which eventually proved to be the winner for the Fayunku boys.
The Folonko boys fought back for an equalizer, but to no avail; and thus the game ended 1-0 in favour of Gunjur.
