As part of their contribution towards the development of the Gambia, the Gambia National Lottery (GNL) last Saturday 22nd August 2009, presented two cheques amounting to D41, 500, to two lucky winner of its Jackpot.
Samboujang Conteh of Nuimi Albreda Village went home with a cheque for D20, 750, while the second lucky winner, Matarr Faal also won the same sum.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony held at the GNL's office in Kanifing, Mr. Fabakary Jammeh, the Marketing Manager of GNL expressed their resolve to contribute to national development.
According to him, GNL would continue to contribute to not only lottery, but youth activities as well, noting that youths are the backbone of every nation and as such, GNL is vigorously engaged in youth activities. He said GNL don't only help people, but also eradicate poverty in society.
"We at GNL are also monitoring developments in the country and we are keeping abreast with the progress being made so far by the company either direct or indirect", he said.
He also urged the two lucky winners to put their money to good use.
Also, speaking at the presentation ceremony, Mr. Amadou Marenah, the Chief Accountant at the Gambia National Lottery (GNL) expressed seminar sentiment, urging them to make the best use of the money.
