Giboro-Gidda case proceeds

The case involving 86 accused persons from Giboro and Gidda on 6 June 2012 proceeded at the Brikama Magistrates’ Court with the address of the defence counsel.

According to the defence counsel, Borry Touray, the addressed filed by counsel Mbye was filed onbehalf of all the accused persons and that there was no need for another address on his side.

In response, the prosecuting officer, Chief Inspector L .Touray, said the 86 accused persons were charged with three counts and the prosecution called seven witnesses to testify in support of their case.

“I referred the court to the testimony of all the witnesses who testified in this court,” he said.  

“We relied on the evidence of the prosecution witnesses,” he said, citing sections of the Evidence Act to support his submission.

“We have proven our case beyond all reasonable doubts,” the prosecutor stated.

The case was adjourned till 20 June 2012, for judgement.
