The Gambia Football Association will organise a weeklong coaching course for the Gambian coaches on 31 January 2011 at the FIFA Goal project in Yundum, Pointsports has reliably learnt.

The course, according to Yayha Manneh, country director of Football Gambia, will be divided into two categories such as level one and level two phases.

The 1st phase, which takes place on 24 and 25 January 2011, will involve division 1 coaches, while the 2nd phase, which takes place on 27 and 28 January 2011, will cover division two coaches drawn from the Gambia Football Association's clubs.

Manneh added that the level 2 course is expected to start from 31 January to 4 February 2011. The course will be conducted for the GFA 1st division coaches and six regional coaches under the football association.

Manneh also said that Football Gambia has come to agreement with the GFA to send two representatives from the country's top flight football clubs to take part in the course.

This initiative, Manneh explained, was made possible thanks to the support of the Football Gambia Association who enjoys a good relationship with the Football Gambia.

"The course tutor will arrive in Banjul on the 21 January ahead of the course," Manneh disclosed in an interview with this reporter at his residence in Lamin at the weekend.

In a separate engagement, Football Gambia will host 40 volunteers, donors and players who will be taking part in a football match aimed at raising funds for Football Gambia.

The proposed fundraising match, according to Manneh, is slated for 28 January 2011.

Meanwhile, the West Coast Sports committee, who earlier this year took part in a level two leadership training in sports coaching, will also take part in an advanced level one certificate on sports leadership coaching course in Brikama as part of next year's programme.
