The much talked about and controversial draft constitution of the Gambia Football Association, (GFA) would be tabled at an assembly of football delegates on December 8th, credible sources told Point Sports.
The meeting, dubbed the adoptive congress, would bring together the entire 204 delegates under one roof, where they would be expected to adopt the draft constitution which most of them already criticized for eliminating them from the GFA.
Only recently, the GFA and top officials from the Ministry of Youth and Sports toured the country promoting the new constitution and allaying the fears of the regional delegates opposed to changes in the GFA membership proposed in the draft constitution.
The adoption or rejection of the document is believed to be key to the future of the GFA which must hold elections in March to put in place a new executive.
