This development is necessitated by the unfinished business talks between the GFA and its potential league sponsors Gamtel/Gamcel with regard to the sponsorship deal, according to Bakary B. Baldeh, media officer of the GFA, in a press release.
However, the GFA marketing committee is working very closely to agree on a binding document with Gamtel/Gamcel and have further agreed to conclude the discussions by 10 January 2013 when all the clubs and grounds would have been fully informed on the benefits accrued to them on the sponsorship.
The GFA Normalisation Committee regrets this development but wants to assure all that the committee is determined to commence the 2012/2013 season with a firm sponsorship deal which will be beneficial to all stakeholders throughout the country.
