The Brikama Magistrates' Court recently convicted and sentenced one Wuyeh Darboe, an apprentice, to a suspended sentence of six months for assault causing actual bodily harm.

He was also ordered to compensate the complainant in the sum of D1,000.

The accused begged the court to temper justice with mercy, saying that he fought with the complainant Musa Conteh, which led to such an act.

In delivering his judgment, Magistrate Nkea warned the accused person that he would give him a suspended sentence, but if he appears before him again, the court will not have any mercy on him.

It would be recalled that Wuyeh Darboe on 4th September 2010 at Brikama, allegedly assaulted one Musa Conteh by hitting him with an iron on his nose.
