Gamtel on Monday beat Bombada 2-1 in the week seventeen fixtures played at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium to revive their lead in the 2014-2015 First-Eco Partners-sponsored Gambia Football Federation division one league.
The telecommunications giants, who are searching for their first-ever division one league title, came into the game with the intention of bagging the vital three points in order to fancy their hopes of clinching the league title. They managed to snatch the vital three points after their slender win over the Brikama-based outfit to rejuvenate their hopes at the top of the summit, with 34 points in seventeen games.
Bombada are yet to secure victory since the start of the second round, and managed to grab only two points in their previous fixtures.
Bombada are still mid-table with 22 points in seventeen games, and are expecting to recover in their next fixtures to improve their position in the league.
Elsewhere, Banjul United was held to a 1-1 draw by Gambia Ports Authority in the week seventeen fixtures played at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium on the same day.
Banjul United is in fourth place with 24 points in seventeen games, while Gambia Ports Authority is in fifth place with 23 points in fifteen games with two games in hand against Wallidan and Brikama United.
