Speaking to Pointsports, Momodou Faal, acting chairman for the committee, said this year’s tournament was named after Ambassador Jackson.
He added that they currently only have 5 registered teams, but are still open for registration, for a fee of D4,000 until the end of the week, as other teams have shown interest in coming forward to register for the competition.
The aim of the competition, Mr Faal said, is to promote grassroots football, as well as identify talents. All games will be played during the weekends, he added.
He further stated that plan are under way to stage a volleyball competition, shortly after the conclusion of the football tournament.
