The
Gambia Standards Bureau on Tuesday organised a daylong seminar to validate the
National Quality Policy and its Action Matrix and Action Plan.
The
forum, held at Khamsys conference centre in Bijilo, was organised under the
auspices of West Africa Quality System Programme and attended by various
stakeholders.
Papa
Secka, director general of Gambia Standards Bureau, said the validation was to
align the quality policy of The Gambia with the Ecowas Quality Policy and to
ultimately put in place a 5-year costed implementation plan that can be used as
a tool for mobilisation of funds for its implementation.
He
said the forum would finalise the draft revised quality policy and
implementation plan for The Gambia.
The
West Africa Quality System Programe provides support to countries to have a
national quality policy that is harmonised with the ECOWAS Quality Policy and
incorporate it in an implementation matrix and costed action plan which can be
submitted to donors for funding.
