Gambia Ports Authority, Real De Banjul sail to FA Cup semis

The Gambia Ports Authority and Real De Banjul are both through to the semi-final of the ongoing Gambia Football Association FA Cup competition after winning their quarterfinal matches at the weekend.

Coach Peter Bonu Johnson and his charges advanced to the semi-final after thumping Young Africans 3-0 in the all-Banjul derby encounter played at the Serrekunda East Mini-stadium on Sunday thanks to goals from Hatab Badjie, Yafaye Jadama and Dawda Sambou in the 15th, 30th and 75th minutes.

Real de Banjul, on the other hand, progressed to the semis following their 2-0 win against city rivals Wallidan during a thrilling quarterfinal clash at the Banjul KG5 Mini-stadium on Sunday.

Their goals were scored by Abdoulie Sanneh and Modou Njie-Sarr in the 55th and 65th minutes, which confirmed their qualification to the last four.
