Almamy Ceesay, Lamin Jallow, Maimuna Touray and
Gibril Jatta, employees of the Kombo Beach Hotel, were recently arraigned
before Magistrate Gomez of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court, charged with
conspiracy to commit a felony and stealing by clerk or servant.
The particulars of offence in count one read that on 8 November 2014, at Kombo Beach Hotel in the Kanifing Municipality, the four employees jointly conspired to steal.
Count two stated that while employed by the said hotel as supervisors and waiters, and by virtue of that employment, they stole the sum of D8,000 being bills paid by visiting UK guests.
They denied any wrongdoing and were each granted court bail of D10,000 with a Gambian surety, who must swear to an affidavit of means and deposit an ID card.
Hearing was adjourned to 3 June 2015.
