Electrifying matches in GFF division one league season opener

The opening of the 2014-2015 First-Eco partners-sponsored Gambia Football Federation domestic division one league season is expected to produce inspiring and stirring fixtures across three venues, namely Serrekunda East, Brikama and Banjul respectively.

As part of week-one fixture, Bombada will Saturday 28 November 2015 host the newly-promoted side Steve Biko at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium, the Sateyba boy’s finished fifth place in their debut season in the top flight after shocking some household names.

The Bakau giant killers regained promotion to the premier league after finishing second place in the country’s second tier last season.

Banjul United will clash with the FA Cup champions Wallidan in the all-Banjul derby tie at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium.

Banjul United and Wallidan both are mid-table in the country’s top flight league last season.

Elsewhere, Gambia Armed Forces will play against the newly-promoted side Samger at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium on the same day.

The Soldiers finished mid-table in the league last season; the Academy boy’s regained promotion to the top flight after clinching second division league title.

On Sunday 29 November 2015, Brikama United will welcome Serrekunda United at the Brikama Mini Stadium, the Sateyba boys finished fourth place in the league last season and Serrekunda United survived in the topflight after finishing two places above relegation zone last season.

The reigning league and Super Cup champions Gamtel will rub shoulders with Real De Banjul at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium. The telecommunication giants clinched their first-ever league title last season after their stunning performance in the league title race.

The city boys missed the league title to telecommunication giants last season in the final day of the season following their disappointed goalless with relegation threatened Serrekunda United.

Elsewhere, Gambia Ports Authority will lock horns with Hawks in the other week-one fixtures at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium on the same day.

The ferry boys finished third place in the league last season, and the red devils finished three places above relegation zone last season.
