Ousman Drammeh and Sainey Njie were recently arraigned before Magistrate Abeke of the Brikama Magistrates’ Court, charged with affray and assault, causing actual bodily harm.
Meanwhile, the first accused, Ousman Drammeh, admitted the charge and was convicted and sentenced to a fine of D100 in default to serve one month in prison.
The second accused, Sainey Njie, who pleaded not guilty to both counts, was granted bail of D5,000 with a Gambian surety.
According to the particulars of offence on count one, on 19 March 2011, between Kafuta and Bluck, in Kombo East, West Coast Region, the accused persons took part in a fight at a public place.
The charge sheet on count two read that on the same date and place, the accused, Sainey Njie, assaulted one Ousman Drammeh on his face, causing him actual bodily harm.
The case was adjourned till 5 April 2011.
