Drug suspect arraigned

A man called Abdouraman Barry, a resident of Brufut Village, in Kombo North District of the West Coast Region, accused of being in possession of suspected cannabis sativa, was recently arraigned at the Banjul Magistrates’ Court before Principal Magistrate Taiwo Ade Alagbe.

According to the particulars of offence, on 16 June 2012, in Brufut Village, Kombo North District of the West Coast Region, the accused, Abdouraman Barry, was found in possession of four bundles of suspected cannabis sativa.

When the charge sheet was read and interpreted to the accused in the language he claimed to understand, he denied the charge preferred against him.

He was subsequently remanded in custody and the case was adjourned for the prosecution to call witnesses.
