The Special Criminal Court in Banjul presided over by Justice Emmanuel Nkea, Thursday granted court bail to Alhagie Lamin Barrow and Awa Sey, who were arraigned on a single-count charge of manslaughter.
The bail condition was for D2 million each with two Gambian sureties, who must have landed property within the Greater Banjul Area.
This came following the amendment of the charge sheet from murder to manslaughter.
Defence counsel E. Chime then applied for bail on behalf of his clients on the grounds that the said offence was bailable, and the court granted the application.
It would be recalled that the two accused persons, Alhagie Lamin Barrow and Awa Sey, were charged with the offence of manslaughter, which both have since denied.
The case continues.
