Burglary and theft case continues

The housebreaking and theft case involving one Abdou Aziz Camara recently continued at the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court before Principal Magistrate Tabally.

The case continued with the testimony of the second prosecution witness, Muhammed Lamin Khan.

Khan told the court he knew the first prosecution witness (PW1), Amie Jack, and that he could also recall 17 September 2012.

He said on the day in question, he was having his lunch in a compound and on his way, he saw the accused and he called him and asked for D10, but the accused gave him D50.

Khan further testified that as he was going, the accused called him back and handed over something and asked him to keep it for him as he was the only guy he trusted.

According to him, it was a plastic bag containing four bangles, and he kept it, adding that he later heard that the accused was apprehended by the police.

He added that when he heard the news he dug a hole and concealed the plastic bag containing four bangles, stating that the police later came to his house together with the accused person and he handed over the plastic bag to them.

He said he was later called at the police headquarters in Banjul.

The case is adjourned till 5 December 2012.
